that one time i was a florist

So this summer I helped my sister and her friend Jessica with a few events they planned. I mainly followed them around trying to learn about the event business. So for one wedding, they were trying to find a florist because their go-to florist was going to be out of town. Well my mom volunteered me. I took a floral design class at BYU a couple years ago and absolutely loved it but I wasn't too sure I could do a wedding. The only experience I had with anything floral was the class and my own love of flowers, but I still agreed to do it and faked my confidence. The process was more work than I expected but I seriously loved every single second, from picking out the flowers to arranging them.
Luckily Sarah, the bride was so easy and confident that I would make something beautiful. She gave me the reins and let me be creative. We have very similar styles so it was easy for me to pick things out. She wanted a garden feel, not too perfect arrangements. It was also very convenient that the wedding was held in my backyard.
Anyway here are a few pictures that she sent me of the finished products. I am very happy with the results and if its not too much bragging, have to say I am pretty proud of myself. I learned how to make bouquets and boutonnieres from YouTube. Oh the joys of modern technology. The photos were taken by Jessica Kettle Photography.

I was obsessed with the boutonnieres

they are seriously perfect, right?

My favorite thing I made was Sarah (the brides) bouquet.

Sarah didn't want perfect arrangements, there was an assortment of about 5 vases on each table.

The reception was gorgeous, and perfectly reflected the bride and groom.

Thanks to Sarah who is so relaxed, she let a total beginner try her take at the floral business. I had such a blast.
